Just who is
Jack Blackwell??

I really began my working and professional career as a flight attendant, which was a position I held for about 11 years. I did all the normal flight attendant things; I partied, traveled the world and had a generally good time. However I was not happy. The depth of the work left my heart lacking. When I was not working and traveling I will still very solid in my studies and in my private time. My passions were psychology and spirituality. I read whatever I could, I studied and soaked up as much literature as possible. Everything was going along well, until September 11th, 2001.

As a flight attendant we could say that there was a demarcation line here, everything changed. Friends were losing jobs, security was a nightmare, people were really unhappy. It became a very miserable place to work. And within myself I was being pulled to something deeper and more meaningful. 9/11 for me was the impetus to move on, being a flight attendant was a very comfortable job, sort of like a warm couch on a cold winters day, hard to leave. But 9/11 also opened the door to getting out of the airline industry. I was offered a package of free travel for life if I would pack my bags and go. Hard to pass this offer up!

I left the job of a flight attendant, and although there was some sadness I have never regretted this decision. Thus my spiritual and healing pursuits were able to be fueled with much more passion. It was at a workshop called Radical Forgiveness that I first experienced breathwork, now this was not Holotropic Breathwork, but breathwork just the same. This experience of one hour's worth of breathing absolutely astounded me. I have not been the same since. I knew after this one hour that this was what I wanted to do with my life, I wanted to learn to facilitate this work. And this is what I did.

I learned a couple of different breathwork modalities, but it was the Holotropic Breathwork that had my heart. The training was top notch in every respect. It was intense, challenging and it filled me with awe. The way the training staff taught me to create sacred space and hold a circle was phenomenal. Finally after 4 years of this rigorous training I was certified as a facilitator by GTT, (the Grof Transpersonal Training). This was in 2007.

It was also in 2007 that I began my Family Constellation training. A Family Constellation workshop was something I had experienced way back in 2002 in the woods of Virginia. And I can honestly say that Family Constellations blew me away also. Here was a modality that changed my entire worldview, (and this is not easy as I can be stubborn and skeptical), but this work truly did it. I completed this training in 2009, and I am still so fascinated that even now I am studying this work every chance I get.

In the meantime, during all of this training, I returned to school, arriving in Boulder Colorado to attend Naropa University. Here I majored and received my degree in Contemplative Psychology.

Passions

In addition to the above mentioned I have strong feelings for men's work and helping men to get back on track, find their strength & heart, while leading more meaningful lives. I find much of the masculine to be very lost right now, as I once was myself, and it touches me deeply to be a part of a movement guiding men back to what is truly important to them. Another passion for me is the pattern of codependency and its healing.

Some things about me that
might surprise people?

I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I have jumped out of perfectly good airplanes, jumped off bridges with nothing but an elastic cord around my ankles, ridden through the Jordanian desert on a Bedouin camel and cycled 1000 miles down the New Zealand coast.

I now own two homes in Nicaragua, oy-vey, dont ask!!

I did not meet my biological father until I turned eighteen.

My ambition in life is to lead world-wide workshops (which I am happy to say I am well on my way to).

I would like to go into the Alaskan wilderness on a team of sled dogs and see the Northern Lights.

I am a foodie and I love great cheeses.

I am equally at home in a five star resort as well as a hovel in Mexico.

And even though I lead groups and workshops, at times it can be hard for me to be fully seen.

If there is any way I can be of service to you on your journey to wholeness and happiness, please let me know.

Best, Jack
